Dodger Stadium is the home ground of the famous Los Angeles Dodgers. It is the third oldest ballpark in the country with a maximum seat capacity than any other stadium. This family-friendly ballpark can accommodate an audience of up to 57,000.

Between 1963 and 1981, the Dodger Stadium hosted many crucial games as part of the World Series. Fans can never forget the moment when the Los Angeles Dodgers have beaten the New York Yankees at home. The MLB All-Star Game in 1980 was another unforgettable game held at this venue. More recently, the semifinals and finals of the 2009 World Baseball Classic (WBC) were held here. In 2017, the stadium is once again all set to host the semifinals and finals of the WBC. Speaking of soccer, in August, 2013, the stadium hosted a soccer tournament between the Los Angeles Galaxy (hometown team) and the European clubs Juventus, Real Madrid, and Everton.

Constructing this stadium was never easy. Back in the 1950's, the residents of Chavez Ravine were unwilling to give up their land and homes, even after they were offered a lucrative compensation. Things quickly heated up and the sheriff had to intervene with armed guards and bulldozers. After three years of grueling work, the stadium finally opened in 1962. It costed a whopping $23 million ($170 million, in today's scenario) which is sourced mostly through private funding.

Besides baseball, the Dodger Stadium served as a venue for many historic events. Music legends such as Elton John,The Jacksons, Britney Spears, Madonna, Beyonce, Guns N' Roses, and AC/DC performed sold-out concerts at this venue. On September 16, 1987, Pope John Paul II celebrated mass at this stadium. Also, many crucial scenes of blockbuster films like the Naked Gun, Superman Returns, Star Trek, Transformers, and Better Off Dead have been filmed here.

Located in the city's Chavez Ravine community, the stadium overlooks downtown Los Angeles, offering a magnificent view of the Elysian Park and San Gabriel Mountains. Thanks to the dry summers in California, rainouts are pretty rare at this stadium. In fact, this ballpark hosted 856 consecutive between April, 1988 and April, 1999, an all-time record in the major league history.

With a rich history, a loyal fan base and exemplary facilities, the Dodger Stadium is certainly one of the top three ballpark stadiums in the country. During home games, fans can avail any of the two Dodger Stadium Express routes operated by the Los Angeles Metro to reach the stadium.
